From my point of view, it is a great step to offer a Windows port of KOffice.
But it would have better success, if you could provide a stand-alone installation package, instead of forcing inexperienced people to use the KDE Installer. |

I don't think that is possible, because KOffice depends on KDE, even on Windows.

To clarify things, it is not possible to install KOffice without KDE, but what would be possible is to make an easier to use installer. And even a 'koffice-setup.exe' that install koffice and what it needs is a possibility (even if under the hood it call the KDE installer, but that would be a technical detail that the user would not have to see).
But the KDE windows team is short handed, and spend most of its time making sure applications just run. But if there is any Windows developer who want to contribute in that area, his help would be more than welcome. |
