i am using koffice 2.2 to create a new word file. It was a zip file so i extracted the contents to a folder. Now i want to open the word files with the program. How can i do that?please help me. any kind of help would be appreciated. thanking all in advance

AFAIK you cannot yet save Word files; you can only open them in KWord and then save them as ODT, as long as KWord does not crash which it always does at present when I try to save anything. I have successfully read and cut and pasted text from a Word file to another file.

i downloaded koffice as a zip file. how can i install it?no options! nt even installed. its just there in my directory. how to open word files now?

Are you using Linux or windows? If you are using Linux, what distribution? Koffice should be offered through your distribution's package manager, but what that is varies between distributions. If you are using windows you want to use the KDE Windows Installer, but it is even less stable on Windows than on Linux. You don't want to use the zip file in either case, that is the source code which you would need to compile.

Am all messed up with this.am doing the kde for windows installer setup and i reach this place where "applications","language packages" "spelling packages" are seen. in the applications sections i cannot see koffice. so how am i supposed to install that?please respond soon. sorry for my poor english
