Most of our dear readers probably know the kde mascot, named Konqi. Take a look here:


It is time to give him a more modern look.
This is your chance! Fire up Krita, our wonderful painting application from the calligra suite, and paint him like you think he should look.
Some prerequisites:

• Needs to be done in Krita (obviously)
• The artwork should be licensed under an open source license, like LGPL v2+
• It should honor our Code of Conduct, which also means, the dragon shouldn't beat a gnome with a hammer...
• Preferred is a portrait of Konqi, no background landscape needed
• It should be a serious approach, and as such be usable in various marketing scenarios
• One topic per submission, but feel free to update your work with a followup post. The last one at the deadline counts.

The contest will be held from now to January 31st 2013. The jury consists of Animtim, Deevad and Nuno Pinheiro.

There two prizes: a DVD+Comics pack and the last original First Krita Sprint t-shirt!
So get your pens ready and publish your work to the Krita Contest Gallery.
