How to set customized 'Ripped Files Pattern' as DEFAULT?

In K3B's prefs, I've changed the naming pattern for music ripped from a CD, @:

Start Ripping -> File Naming -> Ripped Files Pattern

I can save the pattern I create for later load/reuse just fine -- but the dialog always 1st pops up using a 'default' setting.

How do I make *MY* setting the default to be always used?

maybe (don't use k3b to rip so not sure) but try systemsettings -> Multimedia -> Audio CDs -> Names

Unfortunately, changing those settings doesn't seem to make any difference in k3b :-( No matter what I change those to, k3b defaults to:

"%A - %T/%n - !a='%A'{%a - }%t"

By the way, what do you use for ripping in kde ? I'm only trying to use k3b because Amarok is broken.

I use Audex though there's a couple of changes I needed to add to fix the cover retrieval (discussed on this page http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/Au ... tent=77125) and the Album Artist field is broken but is fixed in svn
afaik Audex it's the only kde ripper that does cover retrieval and the AlbumArtist tag

other KDE ripping apps include SoundKonverter & KAudioCreator

Didn't know about Audex, thanks.

At 1st glance, it supports rip to ogg format, but doesn't have any ogg profiles installed out of the box.

"Codec Scan" can't seem to find anything ogg-ish ...

looks like that's a known bug:

http://budts.be/weblog/2011/03/getting- ... ogg-vorbis
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=583915

and the opensuse packages I downloaded don't have the fix.
