Hello, I plugged external hard drive on my router. Thus all computers may play files on this hard drive and in particular movies. My "problem", when I want to play movie, I go to this remote hard drive with dolphin and I double click on the wanted movie. KDE downloads always movie on my local disk (/var/tmp) before begin to play movie. Is it possible to play movie without download it before, to play movie like streaming?
My network use samba. I did some test and I saw that if I use gigolo software to "mount" samba sharing, I can play movie in live. Any idea? |

Yes, in this case you need to mount the shared Samba drive into your file system. Instructions are usually available from your distribution for doing this.
KDE unfortunately cannot do this at this time.

Thanks for the information. Is there any bug report already opened about this "probem"?

Have you tried FUSE? I use it with the sshfs module to watch movies located on my home server with another machine in the network.

It is a known issue, I don't know if there is a bug report for it though. I wouldn't recommend opening one however, as it probably does exist - or has been closed.
