How exactly would I download Karbon for Windows? Also, is it licensed for commercial use, such as creating logos?

Hi

Any work you produce with a gpl applications is yours and yours alone. The free software license is about the software, not what you make with it.

Unfortunately there is no binaray installer avaialble for windows - If you are skilled you can possibly build it yourself but your milage may vary, and to be honest i doubt it will work to your satisfaction.

best regards

I am beyond frustrated... 19 years in Graphic Design I've seen program issues but this time it's with the thought process behind Calligra Suite. Or that lack of. The websites feels a bit spotty on detailed information. Still it sounded amazing and it sounds like a great suite of all these great programs brought together. Specifically I wanted to get to know Karbon. I installed Calligra Suite and not only did my Krita get uninstalled but the suite was useless for anything but word documents or presentations. I found no way to add any other applications. I soon found out I shouldn't expect to get Karbon on windows. I uninstalled Calligra and feel it's a waste of time and false promise. Perhaps explain to Windows users how limited it really is. Plus the gear icon that usually represents settings or options in the top right corner did nothing. I may look at it on my Linux machine when I'm not so butt-hurt. LOL

Karbon is unfortunately completely unmaintained and hasn't been maintained for years now. As with most open source projects, progress depends on people volunteering their time, and without volunteers everything stagnates. Which is one reason we're going to make the 2016 Krita kickstarter about text and vector tools, because a lot of work is needed.
