I'm trying to set up Kmail and KAddressBook to use my gooogle contacts like I did in KDE 4.14, but I can't find any settings for Akonadi that allows me to do that. Fortunately there was a setting in KOrganizer that allowed me to sync to my google calendars, but exactly how do I import/sync my google contacts?

You should still find Akonadi's settings in KDE4's systemsettings (which you can also run in Plasma5) if you have it installed.
