Hi all.

I changed the overlay-rendering example to use "earth/srtm/srtm.dgml"(Atlas map theme), but can't show the loaded image.

Please help me to realize how can load and show remote sensing image in Atlas map theme, thanks!

Another problem, longitude and latitude graticule lines display confusion when north or south poles is central point, and distance is very small. This may be is a bug.

In near area of north or south poles, draw circle or line maybe confusion, even to cause app crashed.

Hi,

Rendering a remote service image could be done in two ways:

[*] either you create a new world-wide texture layer (similar to what is explained here: https://techbase.kde.org/Projects/Marble/CustomMaps)
[*] or you create a KML GroundOverlay. Currently we "only" support normal KML GroundOverlays - but we also have patches in the queue for GroundOverlays that are specified via a LatLonQuad. Using Marble's Edit Panel you can even create the GroundOverlay from within the Marble UI.

The Atlas map theme is not suited for showing remote images sensing, since the Atlas map is a very special beast: Internally it's a 256-shade grayscale map that gets recolored according to a fixed color palette. Instead you should rather choose other map themes like bluemarble, openstreetmap. Except for the temperature and precipitation map theme all other mapthemes don't have that limitation.

If you have any more questions about details, don't hesitate to ask - or join us on Tuesday, 7PM-9PM CEDT on IRC (freenode, channel #marble) for our weekly Marble Café meeting. :-)
