Is there going to be an appimage release of 3.1.0? I'm still stuck on 2.9.7 with no ability to upgrade.

@tmae, it would be nice, just announced we're looking for distributors that would want to create and ship such packages: https://blogs.kde.org/2018/01/29/kexi-3 ... frameworks

Would this be something for bountysource? How has bountysource for Kexi worked out? Doesn't seem like many issues have been resolved there.

These are good questions.

We will be able to cover small costs already, definitely not hiring developers. Funds are too small to create a foundation for now but if there were interested volunteers I am OK with that since this would eventually happen.

I noticed that successful fundraising needs ... funds, basically half-time job. Nothing like that was invested in these fundraising so I am happy with outcome. Fundraising message that may be good home user oriented app won't be necessarily good for business apps like KEXI :)

Then, users have many wishes and this would not translate to funds until they are locked. But KEXI is not built around user's lock-in, quite conversely :) Users may have different wishes, everyone wants a bit different improvement.

Then, Bountysource has been acquired. Things will change there and we may want to change fundraising platform. Bountysource was pretty effortless compared to competition.

Optional approach can be a cheap app on steam or paid subscriptions. This would not change the license and is entirely optional. The topic was also covered a bit in the blog comments https://blogs.kde.org/2018/01/29/kexi-3 ... frameworks.

Dear All

I am happy to announce availability of 3.1.0 Release Candidate version of KEXI, KDb, KProperty and KReport for testing.

Please find the 3.1.0 RC at https://community.kde.org/Kexi/Releases#3.1.0_RC_1
If there are no critical issues, final 3.1.0 will be released on March 9.

Note that upcoming Windows releases will be marked as a Technology Previews so any issues on Windows system, such as failing file compacting, are not blockers of the 3.1.0 release.

There are quite a few bug fixes and improvements since the 3.1.0 Beta, please see the change log (search for "3.1.0 RC 1"):

Hello!

I am very pleased to announce final release of KEXI 3.1 and its Frameworks.

A special highlight after years-long pause is official Windows version. It costs a lot of effort to produce and maintain it so feel free to report your thoughts regarding this Preview version.

Please find KEXI source code downloads, Windows installer, list of changes and issues at https://community.kde.org/Kexi/Releases#3.1.0.

Further release schedule: https://community.kde.org/Kexi/Schedules

Thanks!

Please, put a low priced binary on Steam for Windows, and I'll buy it with all the money I won't be spending on an Office 365 subscription to be able to use Microsoft Access.

There's nothing in the GPL forbidding you to sell your binary, so, please, do it.
