Thanks

Hi,
There are the following options, depending on what are your needs exactly.
You'd rather expect them it as a premium feature in the future. When? Depends on interest.

1. A runtime like the MS Access Runtime. It would be a limited version of Kexi with no rich design tools, documentation, etc. The idea may comes from the old era of 1GB hard disks I think. It's still offered by MS Access but it's rather typical to proprietary software: in case of Kexi it's makes not much sense as everyone can use the "base" Kexi version which is a fully featured one. Also since Kexi is a relatively small software (on Linux: if properly packaged - Fedora I am watching you :) ). Actually it's much smaller than LibreOffice Base that drags Java runtime and probably too much of LibreOffice.

2. An easy to use installer with your database and possible data.

This is the best option. Make sense, makes your database more professional, and is possible, just not offered. Even to generate, perhaps via an online service.

3. A single, statically linked exe.

It is only permitted by our license (LGPL) if your data and database design itself is compatible with the license.
This is not the case usually.

Imagine any MS WORD-like application that embeds the DOC file, and you have to make the DOC free to everyone.
The use is very limited.

Please note that you'd need a database file anyway to be installed as your data or created on the first run. It would be included in the exe file. Since the file is not open for modification once created, the original data, possibly large, stays there. Moreover when want to you send any update of the data to users, change to the exe file is required even if you don't change the application's design. This is not a good practice even in the case of the old fashioned Access' MDB/ACCDB files: for years database splitting is practiced for a reason.
