I am a newbie. I recently installed Kubuntu 19.04. Then installed RealVNC's VNC Connect server - but decided to uninstall it.
How does one uninstall programs? It doesn't show up in DISCOVER. Am baffled. Help.

How did you install it? What kind of package was it?

Currently running Kubuntu 20.04, Plasma 5.18.5, Frameworks 5.68.0, Qt 5.12.8, kernel 5.4.0-40
FWIW: it is always useful to state the exact Plasma version and distribution when asking questions in this forum, makes it easier for us to help ...

that doesn't tell ANYONE which you did. the deb file, the generic script, 32 bit or 64 bit? i'm assuming the script cause if you installed from the deb file after install you should be able find it via discover and uninstall it.

@jetgraphics:

It would be nice to know how you installed the package, so we can find a method to remove it. Please do not give a link to the application, tell us the type of package you used to install it.

As mentioned before, I am a newbie and do not yet speak "Tux."
I clicked on the button in the link : [deb x86], downloaded the application and followed instructions.
It did not mention any package, it just installed it.
If that is insufficient information, I apologize.

It did mention the package in the status line of your browser and probably in the following actions you did to install it, you just don't remember or didn't pay attention. Linux requires the user to look at what is displayed on the screen, as you are the administrator of your installation and need to know how to remove things you install.

You can copy-paste the following line in a konsole and execute it, it will remove the installed package:
Code: Select all
sudo dpkg --remove VNC-Server-6.5.0-Linux-x64.deb

You will have to follow the instructions on the screen, it will ask you for your password and probably a confirmation.

FWIW: Konsole is the command line application for the Plasma desktop, it is installed by default and you can find it in the "Settings" menu under the name "Terminal"
