Managing current resources

Mon Oct 27, 2014 6:17 pm
There is currently a lot of activity with Krita right now. It might be a good idea to set up a Trello board so we all know what is going on.
https://trello.com/

As more people like me jump on board and start helping, it is going to get more difficult to know what other people are currently working on, and what is done. Everyone that is helping only has so much time and energy, so seeing all of this forum activity can get distracting on our current tasks. This will also help communicate to Boud and everyone else what has been done -- and what is being worked on. There is a lot more going on besides just code commits.

Thoughts?

We already have a trello for kickstarter goals:
https://trello.com/b/UNu6S1bz/kickstarter-goals

We also have a mailing list:
https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kimageshop

a community wiki(with outdated design docs) https://community.kde.org/Krita
Many many seperated design docs on google docs.

And a kanboard-system(which is what trello is) on https://todo.kde.org/?controller=project&action=show&project_id=10

I do approve of having a centralised system... we just need to pick one.

nice. I didn't realize all of those solutions were out there. I do like the more visual display of the kanban board for getting things done.

The last kan ban system link (KDE) was wanting me to log in, so I couldn't see what that was like. Do you have to register to even see that?

I think it would be cool to pick a single solution (like you said) that has a public view so anyone can see what is going on. That way it can be communicated better to everyone what is being done now. Looking through the forums and all of the chatter, it is difficult to figure that out.

I would even go as far as putting a link on Krita.org to it. It is pretty neat to be able to see the activity that is currently going on.

Ah, that's because there's no kanban specific for Krita yet.

You just use the KDE login you also use for the forum for this :)

EDIT: According to bcooksley you can make public read-only links for the kde-kanban.
