A Theme, A Crash and Wacom Tablets

Mon May 11, 2015 5:35 pm
I just suffered a really bad crash and, first off, bad on me for not saving more often, but it's still frustrating when it happens totally out of the blue with only 3 layers. I was painting and Krita just just shut down with no warning, no "not responding", no nothing. It was just gone. Lost about 1+ hours of work. I went to check the version # and saw this:

as you can see the contrast of white on light gray is pretty tough to read. I assume it's tied to the theme but maybe this screen should be consist across themes so it stays readable.

- I assume they are no autosave files to recover from, correct?

- Are there crash logs that I can send that would help?

Lastly, after the crash, when I started up Krita again I had no more pen pressure in Krita. The Wacom utility was registering pressure fine but Krita seemed to think I was using constant pressure, like a mouse. I had to restart the computer (Windows 64 and Wacom Intuous 4) to get back to work. This is not the first time I've experienced this.

Lastly, I've also noticed that my Intuos pen switches don't work properly in Krita 2.9. I'm pretty sure they did in 2.8 because I set everything up to emulate Painter when I first looked into Krita in the 2.8 days and I was really happy with the pop-up palette. I've found workarounds for now so this is more of an FYI.

Hi! If you're on windows, type %temp% in explorer adress bar to see if there are any autosaves there. Hope it helps!

Thanks for the suggestion. It appears that Krita either regularly saves in the background or does a dump if it's about to crash out. Here is my Temp dir with old Krita saves.

Thanks again for the help!
