Browsing Images?

Fri May 22, 2015 7:28 pm
Hi guys, you know in photoshop, when you open/browse files, and you can see an image preview, is that possible for krita?

Or is that something thats already works in linux but not on windows?

It only works in one specific version of linux(KDE), but not in windows, or other linux DEs.

This has to do with that people absolutely had to have the 'native' file dialogue of their desktop environment, and that they would come in and say that the KDE dialogue is butt-ugly, so it was disabled in favour of the 'native' one.

I'm also interested into this topic. Using LinuxMint ( Cinnamon desktop ) and no preview as well.
I got used to this with the years, but I shouldn't :P

Therahedwig , as a developer of Krita, is referring to what Krita does on a code level. The 'open/save' dialog is not similar across Windows, Linux using KDE desktop and other Linux using Gnome, Cinnamon, Xfce, etc... ( yes, on Linux many desktop environment ). The version of Krita running on KDE got the 'preview' feature. ( Slangkamp, on second post said it works from him because he is also a KDE developer using the KDE desktop on Gnu/Linux ).

I don't know how looks the open/save dialog on MsWindows.
On Gnu/Linux with Cinnamon desktop , it looks like my previous screenshot. Is it similar on MsWindows ?
