Why some of the windows are so big and not resizable?

This is something that has been bugging me for several Krita versions already, both on Linux and on Windows. The 'new document' dialog is TOO BIG! 9 times out of 10, especially on Windows, that window constantly gets shoved under the task bar. Since the window is as high as the monitor height (768 pixels in my case), I can't drag it upwards to click on the buttons. The window is not resizable either, which eliminates any possibility of trying to click the buttons, which coincidentally are placed at the very bottom of the window.

Why this window has to be this big? It makes no sense. It even looks out of place in comparison to the rest of Krita, IMO.

There's someone working on a redesign. It is probably not resizable because all the elements stop it from being resizable.

I hope so. This is keeping me from using Krita, as I can't create new documents.

Try Krita 3.0; the new image dialog is smaller there.

Temporally workaround for Windows might be, using Alt+key combination in File Creation dialog. (for example Alt-C would press "Create" in Custom Document option)

I would. However, the stylus in Krita 3.0 is mapped with the buttons reversed. (Button 1 is Button 2 and vice-versa), as well as some tablet buttons not working as they should.

Yeeey... i am using krita 2.9 on windows and had the same problem.
Just delete krita directory in C:\Users\[user_folder]\Appdata\Local
then the problem solved!!!

I also think it's weird that some dockers have a minimal size. I changed my layout (see below)
But whenever I add "Grid and Guides to the top right (basically on top of the "Tool Options"), I can't make the Brush Presets + Toolbox smaller anymore. If I remove the "Grid and Guides" from there, I can easily resize the top half, so it only shows 1 row of brushes. <3

That's because you cannot make that docker less high and still show all the contents.

Reinstalling won't fix bugs. It doesn't reset settings, for one thing. You probably need to uncheck the HiDPI checkbox in Krita's settings dialog. That you might need to do this means your Windows system is misconfigured.
