These untranslated messages are provided by Cups resp. the ppd files. In kde 3 with libkdeprint the strings were taken from ppd's, see https://websvn.kde.org/trunk/playground ... d?view=log

I read about CUPS and it says that there is only 1 ppd file possible as it only allows 1 printer configuration profile...in this file should be all translated strings but the string are only used in english even if the ppd file includes several languages (like in my case)

here are the locale:
~$ cat /etc/default/locale
# File generated by update-locale
LANG="fr_FR.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="fr_FR.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="fr_FR.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="fr_FR.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER="fr_FR.UTF-8"
LC_NAME="fr_FR.UTF-8"
LC_ADDRESS="fr_FR.UTF-8"
LC_TELEPHONE="fr_FR.UTF-8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="fr_FR.UTF-8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="fr_FR.UTF-8"

as you can see everything is set to french
