KDE Neon for Linux newbie

Sun Dec 30, 2018 9:51 pm
Hi all
for my new PC need want to install Linux to ease my testing of various data science frameworks and tools. I did have a single experience with Linux many years ago, and have almost no experience on CLI or sys admin.
Since all of them declare Ubuntu support, I evaluated various options, and I like the clean interface and idea behind KDE.
KDE Neon appear to integrate best of two worlds, stability of Ubuntu and speed and latest features of KDE.
My question is if this is a stable enough solution to be used from a newbie like me.
Testing from USB I understood need to install many things but I can manage that, more concerned about compatibility with my hw and stability due to new releases.

Just to let know I have decided finally to settle on Kubuntu.
Tried KDE Neon and worked without problems in my short test, but for a newbie Kubuntu appear to be easier with a richer set of pre-installed applications and will be more stable.
Will eventually experiment with more advanced KDE version as soon I will become more used to Linux, starting from the backports.
