trapped with crashing update

Tue Oct 08, 2019 4:51 pm
every time i start my laptop it tells me that updates are available. however when i select "update" the discover program crashes.

its asking me to make a crash report and install debug symbols, which i tried but unsuccessful

this happens every time.
i can not trigger update manually because it will also crash

how do i get out of this mess?

If you're affected by the crash in Discover please update with Konsole using: pkcon refresh && pkcon update

I am having this problem, too. However, if I run 'pkcon refresh', I get:

Refreshing cache [=========================]
Loading cache [=========================]
Downloading packages [=========================]
Running [=========================]
Finished [=========================]
Fatal error: E: Repository 'http://archive.neon.kde.org/user/lts bionic InRelease' changed its 'Origin' value from 'user/lts bionic' to 'neon'
E: Repository 'http://archive.neon.kde.org/user/lts bionic InRelease' changed its 'Label' value from 'KDE neon - User Edition (LTS)' to 'KDE neon - Plasma LTS Edition'

I presume this is the problem that is also causing Discover to crash. Any ideas on how to solve this gratefully received.

Thanks and regards
