More Location Errors on Mac

Wed Apr 17, 2019 4:03 pm
So far, on my MacBook many good things are possible with Kstars and the ability to interface with my mounts, camera and guider.

However, I cannot get Kstars to show astronomical objects in their correct locations.

Case in point: It is 10AM here in Denver, Colorado. The Sun is shining in a clear, but polluted sky. Yet, Kstars insists that it is below the horizon!

Stellarium and SkySafari don't do this, but locate it correctly.

The location map in Kstars shows my location with a negative in front of my longitude, so it shouldn't be that.

Any ideas on a fix would be wonderful.

OK,

So when I compare Kstars with SkySafari, it seems that I can match rising and setting stars between the two programs. However, when it comes to solar-system objects, they show different visibilities.
