@TheBlackCat

For things like these, BKO is definitely a better place.

Although this thread have derailed a lot of times from the original purpose.

I have some suggestions. I apologize beforehand if these have already been made, but I didn't see them when I looked.

1. In the "Computer" tab, it would be nice if we could drag-drop reorder the sections by dragging the headers like we can in the shelf widget. Personally I would prefer System to be alone on the left with Places and Removable Devices in that order on the right, but I think allowing people to freely drag and drop them would be best. Being able to drag-and-drop reorder all of the sections (besides applications) would be nice, but I think it is particularly important in "computer".

2. Please bring back the option to change the icon of the shelf widget. I generally don't like the automatic decisions that are made by the widget.

3. Allow drag-and-drop reordering of the applet icons when "show categories inside the applet" is enabled.

4. When in "show categories inside the applet" is enabled, use the icon the user set in for the "show onl menu launcher icon" mode for the applications category. Currently it is fixed at the KDE Logo, which is different than the one the user set and different than the icon used for that category when you are in the "show only menu launcher icon" mode.

1. If it happens for Computer, it will need to be for others as well. For the uniformity :)

2. Can do :)

3. Can do... I guess :) Then, I'll have to do that for the inside buttons as well.

4. Since that configuration is hidden when "show categories inside the applet", I don't really think it would be a good idea.

1. Great. Uniformity was the reason I brought doing it elsewhere.

2. Great

3. Great. I thought about it for the inside buttons, but I frankly don't care there.

4. If you can't do it because it is hidden, then at least provide some way to change that icon. For uniformity you would probably need to give the option for all the icons both there and in the tabs in the default mode, which would probably be a lot more difficult which is why I suggested doing it this way.

Another idea I forgot earlier:

In the default application launcher there is an option to "Show applications by name". I think having this option in Lancelot would be good as well. I personally prefer it that way, especially in the default plasma theme where the application names are very hard to read.

4. It wouldn't be difficult, but a bit too complex for the configuration UI.

5. Strangely enough, L shows app names first everywhere except in favourites... hmh, what the hell was I thinking :)

I really like the new shelf widget that comes along with KDE 4.5 but unfortunate it is hardly usable with a dark plasma theme: Block font and black background. :(

@naraesk

That's the theme's fault. Which theme are you using?

Oh, I just noticed that it seems to be a plasma bug:

(1) I choose the "Elegance" Design. White Font, Black Background, looks good.

(2) I go to Details and for every point I choose "Elegance". Of course it should look the same like (1), but now it is a black font and black backgronud.

No, it shouldn't - apart from /elements/ plasma themes have color schemes that ship with the theme, and this is even more true for Lancelot/Shelf. Every colour is defined in a config file, so if you choose the element-by-element approach, the colours will be still from the main selected theme.

But the main selected theme is Elegance. :)

Who knows what is happening then :) (don't really know how they implemented the details part - it is a hackish tool)

Add a button to delete list of recent documents and/or the possibility to doesn't show recent documents. I don't want that my recent files I opened are listed.
