KMyMoney packages

Sun Dec 07, 2008 8:35 pm
Hello,
I know there are several packagers out there that update regularly from CVS and make those packages available. Clay's PPA is one example, and I know Packman.

Would you be so kind to post here and let other ppl know which CVS packages are available out there for people who want to enjoy the latest and edgiest of KMyMoney?

Thanks![hr]
Here is the link to Clay's PPA. This a package, maintained by Clay, for K/X/Ubuntu users. It is updated regularly from CVS.

Here's the link to the packman archive for SuSE (10.2 and newer, both 32 and 64 bit):

Ebuilds for Gentoo exist in portage so this post is no longer relevant.

Three points.

I can't remember for sure, but I think that the requirements for installing from CVS are not complete, at least for openSuse. I seem to remember that a couple of additional packages were required. If this is correct, what are they?

I think OFX is now installed automatically, so presumably doesn't need to be specified to ./configure any longer? In the manual this stage is shown with --prefix=[your kde dir] --with-qt-dir=[your qt3 dir] options. Could a note be added as to when these may be needed? I know they aren't needed on openSuse.

Secondly, as more people move on to KDE4, and as it will be some months (per Alvaro) before KMyMoney3(?) is ready, might it be an idea to specify what KDE3 packages are needed? Perhaps a subsection for each distro would help?

I'm hoping these clarifications might help for people fresh to CVS.

I know there is a fix for the bug that prevents loans / liability accounts from being created already developed but not yet published. The inability to create these liability accounts has effectively halted my migration from MS Money. Is there an ETA when the fix will be available? Or, a work around? I check Clay's PPA of a regular basis.

Thanks

I downloaded 1.0.1 from sourceforge, was was able to install it and problem solved. Thank you very much. For the installation instructions in README I would add (for Ubuntu) that the "--without-arts switch" be added to the make command as arts (I believe) is not in Ubuntu and make fails otherwise.

Thanks again.

Jorge has prepared RPM packages for Mandriva 2010.

You can find them at: http://jjorge.free.fr/packages

Mac OS X versions available via MacPorts (http://www.macports.org/ports.php?by=name&substr=kmymoney):
[list]
[*] version 4.7.x for KDE4: kmymoney4
[*] version 4.7.90 (git master) for KDE4: kmymoney4-devel

Installation steps could therefore be e.g.:
Code: Select all
# install the last release:
$ sudo port install kmymoney4

# install the development version:
$ sudo port install kmymoney4-devel

If you're interested in special versions of AqBanking you have the freedom to choose from 3 non-gtk sub-ports (http://www.macports.org/ports.php?by=name&substr=aqbanking5).
By default KMyMoney4 requires the port aqbanking5, but if the user installed one of two alternative sub-ports (aqbanking5-devel or aqbanking5-svn) they will be used for building KMyMoney4.

Please submit bugs for KMyMoney4 to https://bugs.kde.org!

Clearly MacOSX-specific issues should go to http://trac.macports.org/newticket.

For Windows you can install KMyMoney using the KMyMoney installer (the latest version) or install using the KDE on Windows installer (older versions)

It has? I don't think so ;D
I'll check the links.

Yes, the original post (from 2008) lists the old kde3 ppa, which definitely is long gone.

The current ppa ia here:
