Does this happen under other users / at the logon screen as well? If it does, then your xorg.conf file has been changed. A Kubuntu / Ubuntu guru can probably tell you where to go to regenerate this file.
If it does not, then it is simply a case of opening System Settings > General ( tab ) > Personal > Regional & Language. select the "Keyboard Layout" side tab. select the "Layout" tab, then ensure "Disable keyboard layouts" is selected.

No problem, could you post the link to your post at the Kubuntu forums, so when searchers come across this post they can continue to follow it there? Also, could you please add [SOLVED] to the start of the subject.
Thanks.

Thanks a lot and I did resolve the problem with the next link......
see if this thread helps you. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=972627 Slow Keyboard Rate in Kubuntu 8.10 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I think I found it after pouring through all of the system settings. No idea how I activated it by hitting a random combo of buttons while playing a game, but here's what fixed it for me: "System Settings" -> "Accessibility" -> "Keyboard Filters" tab. the "use slow keys" was checked, with the default being 500 msec delay. An utterly useless feature unless the repeat rate is also altered, since as soon as the system acknowledges that you have pushed the key it is practically already repeated two times. Hope this helped! |
