A small cross button in window preview could be great.:-D
Mockup in KDE 4.3 Air is shown below:

Though this idea is got form Windows 7 it would be great in KDE 4 also.
In windows 7 it is implemented as follows:

Note: This is greatly useful in my experience.

Don't think me as asking a window 7 feature and think as wanting to make KDE Copy windows features, great ideas could be taken.:-)

I like it... but wonder if it could be implemented more elegantly? Having to click on a very small target in the few seconds before the preview disappears seems a bit fiddly. Maybe have it that you can click anywhere on the preview to close it. That would be easier, although I admit it's a bit counter intuitive to click on somethng to close it. Maybe even just close it on mouse over...

The question is:
Why would you need this icon? The preview window disappears automatically, doesn't it? So I don't really see any reason in having this...

The preview window should disappear like that. It should stay visible as long as your mouse is over it or the taskbar icon.

I think the window will close if you click on [x], not the preview. :P

oh, ok! This of course changes my opinion then :-D
This indeed could be helpful...
Is there a way I can change my vote?
haha

Unfortunately you can't. However, I can cancel it by voting up. =P

Edit: By the way, I think the Windows screenshot is much clearer. In the mockup, it does indeed look like a button to close the preview, not the window.

Ya, the cross is intended to close the window...

I have already seen this in STasks. I just hope STasks is included in 4.3 by default... compiling from source isn't very user-friendly...

Yes, I agree for this! Need close button in taskbar thumbnails like Gnome Shell or Unity!
