mensch Registered Member Posts 178 Karma 0 OS	[DOLPHIN] Easy way to mount and unmount disk images Mon Mar 23, 2009 11:16 am OS X offers the ability to mount disk images (ISO, DMG, etc.) by double clicking the file. Mounting the same files in KDE (or any other DE) isn't as easy. One has to create a mount point manually and mount the disc via the command line. I believe I did indeed use fuseiso and a service menu. So components are there, basically it is a distro thing to implement it. XiniX, proud to be a member of KDE forums since 2008-Oct.

Two right-click options: - Mount to <sub-folder with the name of the ISO> - Mount to ... (screen to select location of the folder created).

It has the name "mount". When you select this option, a simple bash-script is executed. It creates the mountpoint and the image is mounted. I\'m not at home, but in a few days I could do it. Also "mount to" is very simple to implement using a bash-script and the kdialog-command.

Right clicking an image gives you an option in the Actions menu and it also has a little app that resembles AcetoneISO. (Can anyone can find info on this? It seems this is completely undocumented and needs to be fixed for CDEmu 1.2) CDEmu actually emulates an optical device to allow you to mount CDs with mixed mode Audio/Data and multi-session images. When you use the command line CDEmu client it makes a device file that HAL picks up and presents in the Device Notifier plasmoid. The KDE client needs to be updated for CDEmu 1.2.0. It used to work just fine earlier. Mounting via double-clicking would be nice tho
