Peace!
I checked the "skip pager" setting for under advanced window settings. What I expect to happen is the window will not be included in the alt+tab list as shown in the screenshot below. However, this is not the case. http://img513.imageshack.us/img513/5356 ... ingwj1.png Is this a bug or am I misunderstanding the setting? I can't seem to find any good resource on this though. Thanks in advance! |

The pager shows your virtual desktops, see blackbelt_jones' screenshot for example. It's in the panel by default.
The "skip pager" setting makes the window (see those squares in the screenshot?) disappear from the pager. I don't know the best method to exclude a window from the alt+tab list. Previously I would suggest to change the window type (under workarounds), but a user here reported that it didn't work in KDE4. However, it might be worth a try. Good luck finding a solution and welcome to the forum!

Indeed, changing the window type, under workarounds, doesn't seem to work at all; although I'm not sure it even works in 3.5. Can you point me to the thread concerned? The reason why this is so important to me is that I have several "monitoring" applications that are docked in the system tray. And I don't want them cluttering my workspace "window list". Removing them from the panel task manager is easy enough though. Another related feature I would like is to pin a particular window to the desktop in such a way that it won't be minimized when u click "show desktop". Any ideas? Thanks |

Here you go.
Again, I would have chosen another window type (e.g. Desktop) in KDE 3.5.x.

The only way I know of is "Skip taskbar", but that also removes it from the task manager list so you'll have to find other means of raising it up.

@Jucato:
If you look at onguarde's screenshot, you can see that he/she already has "Skip taskbar" checked. I think the KWin guys can give us some answers regarding this. Zarin, where are you?

I'm not sure what the best course of action to solve this would be. Can you please submit a wish to http://bugs.kde.org under KWin about a "skip window list" feature please.

Hmm.. it seems the bug has been opened since january 2009 and already has 40 votes. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=171192
Again, I would have chosen another window type (e.g. Desktop) in KDE 3.5.x
Doesn't work in kde4 but will it really be pinned to the desktop i.e not affected by "Show Desktop"? Didn't try it in kde4 b4.. |
