Hi,
i would to present an idea about sound schemes, similar to powerdeveils power schemes. It often happens that you sit in a very quiet place with your laptop and it starts to beep somehow! My idea is to define sound schemes for different places (Mobile phones do this in a simmilar way). Maybe they could be connected with powerdevil active profile... somehow, when your on battery your sound should be muted for all applications... no systemwarnings etc... Or another case: you are presenting something, sou wouldn't like kde to show any popup or to have any systemsounds, but still sounds for maybe "videos" Would like to see that in kde...

Interesting idea.
But this could be not only sound schemes, but more like global themes. Lets say you use a very fancy mouse cursors. But in presentations such style could be not acceptable. So if you pin different mouse theme to presentation mode you get a default cursors loaded (if this is possible). Going back to sound schemes, they could be pinable to sound level. If you have sound at 20% all notification sounds could be disabled, if you rise sound to 60% enable. But there are one problem for some users - some laptops (like mine) has a wheel to control sound, that is not accessible by OS. Anyway I could anytime control plasmoid. Furthermore such sound schemes could be controlled by Mic. In average dB in environment is lets say lover than X, run one scheme, if above Y run another scheme. |

I completely agree. I think this adaptation of the environment to the context of the user could be a differentiating feature for KDE.

Exactly, this be awesome, but of course there should some way of setting it manually in case you don't have Internet access/access to GPS at your new location
