Window size in KDE4.2

Mon Dec 08, 2008 6:53 pm
Hi,
I just installed Ubuntu 8.10 with KDE4.2 beta and I'm very happy with it, but when I open any program, the window starts in the upper left side of the screen and with a very small size. I looked the System Setting but found nothing helpful.
Thank you.

PS: I add a screenshot of my desktop where you can see Dolphin, Firefox and Amarok. I had to move amarok a bit si firefox can be seen.

I too have Kubuntu 8.10 with KDE 4.2 Beta 1 with the same issue, but I needed to select window placement in system settings -> window behaviour -> advanced tab to centered.

For windows to remember sizes I usually need to go into the "window specific" left tab and add/modify the apps i need to set the size option in the geometry tab to "remember"

There is even a "detect window properties" button which gives you a cross pointer which you click the open window whos properties you want to add and it fills in some of the details for you...

Thanks both for the answers, they were very helpful, and sorry for the third post, next time I will spend some time searching instead of posting immediately.
