hI,
I am a user of Dolphin file manager on the Pop-os linux sysem. I have gotten the folders large enough and the text size appearing underneath the folders large enough for me to see. I have not been able to change the size on the horizontal menu or the side panel. This type is incredibly tiny, I am 80 years old and new to Linux so I need some help. On settings I have my screen at 125% zoom which has made most app screens readable, but it has not affected the text of Dolphin. I was able to change the font size under the file folders through Dolphin's settings, but not the top menu or the side bar. I could upload a printscreen but I don't see any upload link. Thanks, Barbara |

Hi Barbara,
I don't know Pop-Os distro ... Do they use KDE as desktop ? If so, check the system settings for fonts. Just type "kcmshell5 fonts" in kruner (Alt+F2). You can change the font and their size separate for tool and menu bar there. In the same way you can change the icon size for the toolbar ("kcmshell5 icons"). After increasing the font and icon size, menu and toolbar should appear bigger. In the context menu from the toolbar (right click anywhere on the toolbar) there is a entry for changing the icon size as well. |

Pop-os is a distro of System 78 computers and is based on ubuntu and debian. I used Dolphin's settings to change the font and it was successful for the text under the folders in the main screen, but it did nothing for the horizontal menu and the side panel.
Before I adjusted the settings of Dolphin, I had adjusted the system settings, so that everything was magnified 125%. Dolphin was the only program that was unaffected by the system change. Here's a link to a print screen http://www.dj-group.org/private/wordpress/wordpress1/adventures-with-linux-font-sizes/ If there are terminal commands I could use, that would be very helpful |

Thanks for the followup. I just tried the kcmshell5 fonts and it responded kcmshell5 not found. It said something about installing kcmshell client. Is that available to me?
Thanks, Barbara |

kcmshell5 or systemsettings5 is the central point for all settings for KDE desktop. In KDE you can set the global font size and all KDE applications use this. Pop-Os uses GNOME3 as desktop. Dolphin is a KDE application. Therefore it is not using global settings made for GNOME3. Before you install kcmshell5, check if you have a file "~/.config/kdeglobals". This file contains global settings for KDE, especially font settings:
if this does not work, install the settings app for KDE
