I had a problem with Opera not opening links direcly but caching them previously in /tmp ( opera-opening-urls ... 39446.html )
anda_skoa explained that this is because KDE uses the same engine for file association and chosen user browser, which means users have to append %u argument, to let KDE know that Opera can handle urls. I think that more logical would be for KDE to assume that user chosen browser is acutally a *browser* and not .html viewer. I am not sure if I explained it clear enough so please refer to the original post by anda_skoa EDIT: sorry, I forgot to set the topic
