Adding multiple folders to folder view and a list box to select it from desktop seems an easy task and could improve folder view functionality.
I'm like use folder view with nepomuk to classified documents, and any kind of file, but currently I need several instances to do the job when with one single instance and a list box I could do the same. An example: Working --> nepomuksearch:/ tag:"doing" and tag:"work" Input box --> nepomuksearch:/ tag:"new" and tag:"work" Output box --> nepomuksearch:/ tag:"done" and tag:"work" and so on. If you prefer an aproach without nepomuk a multiple folders selection could be useful to. An example: Working --> ~/Documents/doing Input box --> ~/Documents/input Output box --> ~/Documents/output

This sounds like this idea: FolderView tabs.
Is this what you want?

Yes, the functionality is the same but I think that implementation aproach is not the same because adding tabs seems to be more dificult than add a list box. On the other side, with a list box, you can have more entries in less space. But, honestly, if folder view has tabs I don't write this entry.

OK. I'll leave this idea open to see which implementation the users prefer.

Well tabs need only one click, drop down twice more.
Anyway, we can't call them tabs, because tabs are opened dynamically, but in this case the are predefined. |

Given all the filtering possibilities KDE provides this would be better than tabs. If nothing else, it saves you at least one click.
Edit: Actually I misread the proposal a bit. My idea would be to display multiple folders in folder view without any tabs and/or drop-down boxes.
