Hi,
This is not a really new idea as this feature was available for KDE 3.5 but I miss it a lot, so... It would be great to be able to configure menu attached to mouse click on desktop background. This may include "K" menu, windows list menu, context menu and maybe other menus too. Since I used this feature in WindowMaker I can't anymore do without it. Once again this was a feature included in KDE 3.5. Thanks jMax NOTA: May be related to this idea and this one too.

I agree. Plasma promises to offer a whole new kind of flexibility. Many new things are now possible (if someone develops them): radically different task bars, new kinds of system trays, new application launchers, ... And, if we don't not want panels, we can now simply get rid of them and move some needed stuff onto the desktop, pull it up using the dashboard, etc.
What is missing, however, are some rather minor changes like this one which will make it possible to do what even the most minimalistic window managers do: start programs with a right click on the desktop is one of them. I hope that the general framework for mouse and keyboard interaction gets an overhaul. I would love to be able to assign all kinds of actions to screen edges, clicks on the desktop and window title bars. |

I agree. Users should be able to define their right click according to their needs.
From application launcher to new device mounter, to bringing up specific apps. Anything they wish. +1

I'd also like to see mouse button actions in KDE4. The work well in 3.5.x. |

Completely agree and mentioned this here:
a-simple-thing-tha ... 28545.html I have a large monitor and being able to have my middle button open the applications menu would be really helpful.
