In Gnome 2 there is an applet for panel that forces a hanging application to shut down (to kill the process). User just need to click on the icon of this applet and then click on the application that needs to be shut down. I haven't found anything like that in KDE (on Kubuntu). If there is something like this let me know, please. If not create such widget. I know that there are other ways to kill app but the way it works in Gnome is the most convenient.
