By better storing mechanism i mean the ability to backup configuration of applications, the option to move important stuff out of .kde and a nicer password managment system than plain text.

- Backup configuration of applications: Instead of copying all of .kde, it would be nicer to have a tool so that you can make backup's of separate apps and their data, then you can move stuff between different computers easier. IMHO this is not so much of an important feature, more a nice to have one.

- Moving stuff out of .kde: Instead of having all my mails in .kde, i would like to move them somewhere outside, where i know they will be save, also kopete might store its history info that way and a lot of other apps might do that. Konversation already has an gui conf dialog for where to put the logs.

- Nicer password managment: A lot of apps/plasmoids store the passwords in plain text files, which sucks, an generic way and safe way to store data that needs to be encrypted should be provided.

Marked as Duplicate of [Systemsettings/AppRequest] Application Request.

As for passwords, you can use KWallet.
