Hi,
I have started using KDE with KDE 4.0 (now I'm on 4.3) and I find it great. But, there is a huge, at least for me, problem. The focus on windows is given on click. This is really really really (repeat another 1000 times) inconvenient when you do drag and drop operations because if the windows involved in the operation overlap the receiving window would be sent in the background. My idea is to give focus on release instead of on click at least as an option. I searched in every corner of system settings but didn't find anything that could solve this problem. Thanks |

I've edited the title to make it more informative.

actually, you can use the middle mouse button for that. It's one of those tricks available (I think it's a kwin feature).
Substitute left-click with middle-click when performing the drag-and-drop operation you describe and the window stack will remain unchanged (if your destination window was on top, it will remain so) Other tricks include preventing click-through. Alt+middle-click will bring a background window in focus, without performing click-through (EDIT: it seems that you can make this the default behaviour of left-click, under Window Bahaviour->Actions settings). Alt+middle-click generally manipulates the window stack. If you do that on the top level, in focus window, it will drop to the bottom of the window stack, for instance. |
