At the first startup of KDE, and in the systemseetings, I propose to configure the window desktop style, like gnome style, window style, mac os style ....)
Example : Choose your desktop configuration 1- KDE standard Desktop - [Screenshot] 2- Mac os desktop - [Screenshot] 3- Gnome desktop - [Screenshot] 4- Minimal Desktop - [Screenshot]

OH I wanted to propose that to!
(I did on the end decided not to, thinking that plasma is more about user customization then pre-customized options, but I still like this idea!) BTW; here's the similar / same idea on Ubuntu Brainstorm posted by me. Of course I'll approve it !

I also like the KPersonalizer but I remember reading that it was removed on purpose. I can't remember the details, but one was that most people did not see it anyway because most distros removed it. Also, I like how all the options except the default were vehemently voted down on ubuntu brainstorm :S

I'll wait for a dev to confirm this, but if what you Alec say is correct this will unfortunately marked as won't fix.
But the positive side is that plasma is so configurable that you can make it look like anything. And System-settings aren't that hard to find, then it's just setting your mouse on double click using Stasks for task manager a Seven plasma look and you have a Windows7 look. And when you get tired off it you just find Sabre Tigre plasma look and use Bespin with XBar and have a OS X look... And i could go on and on...

I know there was talk about being able to package the entire look of your system into a single file that can be distributed. I think doing that would accomplish what you are suggesting. People could just set up such a look and distribute that, while at the same time being able to set up a look that is completely different from anything we have seen before and distribute that as well.

http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Fa ... tent=99737 @TheBlackCat: Sounds like the Activity sharing feature. Is that what you're talking about or are you thinking of something completely different? I'm also pretty sure that the devs have said that the first time run "wizard" isn't going to return. There were some plans to include a Welcome Plasmoid though, but I don't think it's going to include something like this. By the way, KPersonalizer in KDE3 changed more than the desktop, for example single or double click.

It's really STasks, but Fancy tasks is emulating OS X dock better, I just don't get it to work properly.
That's what I personally wish. Or at least if the TheBlackCat idea would be implemented that the file where this would be saved would include other things not just look and feel of plasma. Something that would save all settings; from plasma, win-deco, mouse clicks,.. And I do understand the reason why KPersonalizer isn't ported. But something similar to TheBlackCat's idea should be implemneted and "distributed" over get hot new stuff.

I think it was more like a complete desktop theme, including all appearance-related settings. The user would still have to set up the layout.

I'd like this implemented in a desktop theme-like setup (including defined colors, wallpaper, KDE option presets, notifications, plasma theme, etc.) rather than a preset ("Vista", "Mac OS" etc.) as it provides more flexibility, but it was rather nice to have the presets available, I remember really liking that feature of the first-run wizard in Xandros (my first distro) back in 2005... .
Is there am existing brainstorm item or Bugzilla issue for themes?
