It would be cool if there was an option to set a timeout for set an auto-hide panel visible.

I have a panel with some icons/widgets that is set to auto-hide to don't take much of my laptop screen, but it's annoying when I hit a screen corner (to scroll a page, move a window or something like this) and the panel is brought up immediately.

Panels that have auto-hide enabled are too sensitive. Definitely need to be able to control/configure visibility.

An application may be full-screen, the user moves the mouse to select a button in the application, and the panel becomes visible. The user has to play a cat and mouse game to carefully select the application menu/button without causing the panel to become visible. The user becomes less efficient. Just sliding over to click the cashew causing the panel to become visible. Auto-hide is a great feature, but the sensitivity subtracts from the usefulness of panels.

The concept, from a user's perspective, is similar to:
Personal Settings -> Desktop - > Screen Edges
Activation delay
ReActivation delay
