I use Oxygen, but I'm really impressed by the work on the (optional) Air theme for KDE 4.3.

Plastique!!!
Oxygen is okay, but horribly unoptimized (I can actually see flicker). The other popular styles are too shiny and get in the way.
Don't look back! (Or you might see the giants whose shoulders we stand on)

I think that this is a problem with kde looks in general, too much shine, too many things moving popping up (boxes around icons and plasmoids and plasmoid toolboxes, giant tooltips), too many things on the screen (those horrible cashews)

Bespin FTW!!!
But seriously, I find it really good. And I don't think it's getting in my way. It's perfect for me. And the Amarok hack etc. makes it even better. I would just like to propose that screenshots are added to every new theme, as I know that I don't know all of them, and probably others to. So here it goes; My Bespin:

It's gotta be Oxygen for me.
With a decent colour scheme and a little tweaking it's perfect. Compact, unobtrusive and easy on the eye. Cheers, T

murrina gilouche, not perfect but atm the murrine configurator does not work well with the new murrine engine now I could if kde would handle icon themes with png and svg (or sgv's only) correctly...I could make kde look almost like xfce :shade: oh and I need a kwin theme which looks a bit like this: http://www.xfce-look.org/content/show.p ... tent=73291

QTCurve for me, bec. it's also available for gtk apps, and i hate oxygen bec. of the following reasons...
the tab highlighting the fat menus (checkboxes and icons are not aligned) |

how can i use gtk themes on kde apps?

You need to select the "Gtk" as your "Style" in System Settings > Appearance. Qt 4.5 is a requirement, I do not know if this is available in KDE 4.2.

The Air theme can be installed from KDE Playground.
It is located at svn://anonsvn.kde.org/home/kde/trunk/pl ... ptheme/air

(EDITED) For me Oxygen is fine with the "Evening Lilac" colors. Unfortunatley it's a dark scheme that makes some menu and button text invisible, which I am trying to solve. I love this scheme because the fonts are brisk and sharp.

I like the sharp, clear themes without the glare best. Plateau is my favorite. I also like Cream, but I'd like it more if the analog clock had a second hand.
