Since keyboard shortcuts in KDE with different layouts are generally broken for me, I use xbindkeys to set global shortcuts. However, there is one problem: when I press a hotkey, I don't get launch feedback. The taskbar notification is useful for slower applications, such as Firefox.
So, does anybody know how I can get a taskbar notification (bouncing cursor is disabled) from applications that run through xbindkeys?

Solved by using 'xdg-open application.desktop' to launch the applications.
